How to Start Autophagy
According to the scientific community, you can start autophagy by restricting calories, i.e. fasting.
The research says that you need to fast for 12 to 16 hours in order to begin autophagy.
When your cells get depleted of nutrients, the first thing they do is start to reuse and recycle the waste materials and broken parts they have on hand inside them.
When autophagy starts, your cells create these “digesters”, almost like little stomachs, called lysosomes.
The lysosomes then sweep through your cells eating up all the waste and broken parts.
The lysosomes recycle them into amino acids and proteins that can be used for energy and cell repair.
